Eco-Schools Green Flag award 2023

Well done to St Oswald's Eco Club who have been awarded the Eco-Schools Green Flag award 2023! The Eco-Schools' Awards are designed to further highlight a small number of Green Flag schools, colleges, and nurseries each year, who have delivered, and shared, especially innovative, inspirational, and impactful Eco-Schools work.

Year 6 Superstars

A huge well done to our Year 6 superstars! They have worked extremely hard this week and we are so proud of them all!

St George's day

The reception children enjoyed learning about St George's day last week. We learnt about who St George is and when and why it is celebrated. After the lesson, the children created their own St George's crosses and followed step by step instructions to draw dragons!

Moortown Firefighters Visit

Huge thanks to the firefighters from Moortown Fire Station for taking the time to come and speak to our reception children. They absolutely loved it and are feeling very inspired!

British Values Week

We have been learning all about British Values this week. Today, Y5 and Y6 had a visit from our local MP Stuart Andrew. He spoke to the children about his job and they had the opportunity to ask him questions.

Bobby Bear

KS1 had a visit from our local PCSOs who introduced us to our new school Bobby Bear.

Sponsored walk

The whole school took part in a sponsored walk for @simonotstreets. The children walked from school, along the old railway line, through Nunroyd park and back to school. As a school we raised a huge £905.10 which will go towards helping the charity greatly.

The Great Fire of London

Year Two had a very exciting visitor. We are having a great time learning all about The Great Fire of London 🔥

A visit from White Cross Vets

Year 1 had a lovely visit yesterday from White Cross Vets and Alfie the dog 🐶 We learnt all about how to take care of animals and all of the interesting equipment that vets use, like X-rays and stethoscopes.

Children in Need Day

Thank you to everyone who supported the school with this years Children in Need event and donated buns for our sale. So far, we have raised a huge £651.00 towards this great cause!
