As a school, we recognise the importance of every child feeling fully included in school life. We aim for all our children, and staff, to feel empowered and live full lives. We are passionate and committed to supporting the needs of every child.
We have a dedicated Inclusion Team to ensure that we have the capacity to deliver high quality additional support to those who require it. The team is led by an Assistant Headteacher for Inclusion, and involves the school SEND Coordinator, a Family Support Worker/Early Help Practitioner, trained Thrive Practitioners and a trained children’s counsellor.
Our provision includes our decided space for inclusion in school, our ‘Thrive Room’, which is a safe and well-resourced place where all children are welcomed to explore learning in new ways, take a break or develop their socio-emotional skills. As a school we value and celebrate difference and promote it through actions and words. An example has been a recent project with Leeds United, promoting diversity together as a school through art.
