Speed Awareness

This week PCO Megan came into school to teach the children in Aspen Class about speed awareness. The children stood outside our school checking the speedometer as cars drove by to see whether they were within the speed limit. Those who were received a thumbs up by the children and those who were over the limit received a thumbs down!

The children enjoyed this activity and had fun whilst learning about the importance of staying within the speed limit.

Ian's Mobile Farm Visit

What an amazing experience we have had this morning, Ian’s mobile farm came to visit the children in Nursery and Reception!

He brought a selection of different animals; which included a tortoise named Tank, guinea pigs called Yeti and Gary, two alpacas named Marshmallow and Suzie, a goat and her kid, Bonnie plus a couple of ponies!

The children were so brave and kind, meeting and caring for the animals and learnt some new facts about the animals that they didn’t know before. The children also loved Ian’s sheepdog Meg!

Year 1's Trip to Harlow Carr

Year 1 went on an exciting trip to Harlow Carr. During the time there they explored the grounds and took part in a number of activities including bug hunting, leaf rubbing and making nests for baby birds. We all had such an amazing time and the children represented the school beautifully.

Lotherton Hall

Year 2 have been learning all about different habitats in science. On Wednesday, we went to Lotherton Hall to explore the Wildlife World, take part in a habitats workshop and hunt for minibeasts. We had a fantastic time watching the penguins swimming, seeing the flamingos balance while sleeping and getting up close to a white peacock!

Eco Warriors simple biscuits

Our Eco Warriors enjoyed a fun session baking simple biscuits. This allowed them to see how cheap, easy and fun they were to make.  The children worked in small groups to each produce a batch of tasty biscuits.
