Junk Percussion Workshop

Year 3 and Year 5 thoroughly enjoyed their junk percussion workshop today. They used bins as drums and made their own music

Trip to Morrisons

Year Two had a fantastic visit to Morrisons in Guiseley to learn all about where our food comes from. We weren’t sure on some of the fish and smelly cheese though!

Learning about Church

Year one and two visited church today. They learned about the features of a church such as the pulpit, lecture and the baptism font.

Simon on the Streets

Following our sponsored walk back in December, Simon on the Streets came to be presented with a cheque for £905.10 raised by the families of St Oswald’s. They extend their gratitude to everyone. Well done!

Happy Chinese New Year

We had Mrs Chen visit us to teach us about Chinese New Year. Chinese New Year is the festival that celebrates the beginning of a new year on the traditional lunisolar Chinese calendar. This year is the year of the rabbit. We had a collective worship and learned how to say Happy New Year!

Jorvik and Dig trip for Year 5

Year 5 had a fantastic day in York. We visited Jorvik and Dig where the children had a 'Battle Tactics' workshop and had the chance to be archaeologists!

Sponsored walk

The whole school took part in a sponsored walk for @simonotstreets. The children walked from school, along the old railway line, through Nunroyd park and back to school. As a school we raised a huge £905.10 which will go towards helping the charity greatly.

Maya Day

Year 6 had a fantastic Maya Day! We were visited by the Maya warrior ‘Big Nose’ who taught us all about the ancient Maya civilisation.

Walking Nativity

Year 1 to Year 6 did a wonderful job at performing scenes from the Christmas story as part of our walking nativity. Starting at the school gates and moving through the school, the children really brought the Christmas story to life.

DIY Christmas trees

During our Christmas day celebration morning, KS1 made their own Christmas tree at forest school. They learnt about safety when using the tools and how to tie the branches together. They also made the most beautiful Christmas pictures from natural materials.
