Leeds Children’s Mayor Summit

On Wednesday 4th June a group of Year 5 children attended the Leeds Children’s Mayor Summit at Leeds Civic Hall. This event allowed the children to interact with other Year 5 children from across Leeds who are interested in becoming the next Leeds Children’s Mayor.

The current Leeds Children’s Mayor, Esosa, gave them helpful tips for writing their manifesto and described in detail and with great enthusiasm what the role would involve. We also met the Lord Mayor of Leeds who was able to answer plenty of the questions that the children were eager to ask.

This summit helped to inspire and build confidence in our young people and showed the importance of the influence they can have within Leeds and how to make a positive difference for the young people in the city.
