World Book Day

Oak class started #WorldBookDay with some booking tasting! Our classroom turned into the Book Bistro and we all got to tuck into a range of different books! #WBD2023


Our Planet Poems

Inspired by the topic of Our Planet and the fantastic work of Sir David Attenborough, Oak class have written some fantastic emotive poems. They wanted to share these with David Attenborough so wrote a class letter to tell him about their learning!


Bedtime Stories

EYFS and KS1 enjoyed coming to school in their pyjamas last night to join us for bedtime stories and hot chocolate! Thank you to our Parents & Friends Group for organising.


Bobby Bear

KS1 had a visit from our local PCSOs who introduced us to our new school Bobby Bear.


Wear Red Day

We celebrated Wear Red Day to raise awareness of congenital heart disease and raise funds for Children’s Heart Surgery Fund. Year 1 wore red and all pupils in school were invited to take part in a raffle in which local businesses donated prizes. We raised an amazing £518.09! Thank you to all of the local businesses who donated prizes to help us raise funds for this amazing charity.

Junk Percussion Workshop

Year 3 and Year 5 thoroughly enjoyed their junk percussion workshop today. They used bins as drums and made their own music


Trip to Morrisons

Year Two had a fantastic visit to Morrisons in Guiseley to learn all about where our food comes from. We weren’t sure on some of the fish and smelly cheese though!


Learning about Church

Year one and two visited church today. They learned about the features of a church such as the pulpit, lecture and the baptism font.


Simon on the Streets

Following our sponsored walk back in December, Simon on the Streets came to be presented with a cheque for £905.10 raised by the families of St Oswald’s. They extend their gratitude to everyone. Well done!


Happy Chinese New Year

We had Mrs Chen visit us to teach us about Chinese New Year. Chinese New Year is the festival that celebrates the beginning of a new year on the traditional lunisolar Chinese calendar. This year is the year of the rabbit. We had a collective worship and learned how to say Happy New Year!
